Can you still share Spotify Family in India?

Spotify Premium Family and Duo let people in one home use their own accounts under a single plan. In India, Spotify stopped selling Family and Duo to new and returning subscribers in late 2025. People already on those plans keep them until they cancel.

Spotify now offers Premium Platinum, which covers up to three accounts in one household. Plans change, so check Spotify’s current plans page in your country before you invite anyone.

NeverSub is not affiliated with or endorsed by Spotify. Spotify is a trademark of its owner.

What happened to Spotify Family in India?

It closed to new sign-ups. Existing Family and Duo plans carry on, but someone who cancels cannot sign up for them again.

If you already pay for Family or Duo, the people on it can stay as long as the plan does. If you are starting fresh, look at the plans Spotify sells today, including Premium Platinum, and how many accounts each one covers.

Who can be on a Spotify family plan?

People who live at the plan manager’s address. Spotify asks members to confirm their home address and can check it.

Only share a plan whose terms cover the people you add. That makes family plans a fit for family and flatmates, not friends spread across cities.

The number of accounts on the plan, the manager’s included, is the number of seats in the room.

How do members join a Spotify family plan?

With their own Spotify account. The plan manager sends an invite, so nobody shares a password and everyone keeps their own playlists.

On NeverSub, once the host confirms a member’s payment, the room shows the email to invite. Their library and recommendations stay their own, and stay with them if they leave.

How do you split the cost?

Divide the plan price by the accounts on it. NeverSub works out whole shares that add back up to the price, with no fee on top.

The host creates a room and invites people with a link. Each member pays the host directly, with UPI or whatever they already use, then taps “I’ve paid”. The host confirms and the seat is active for the month.

NeverSub never holds money. It keeps the record of who has paid, so nobody has to remember, and a reminder is one tap away when a share is due.
