How it works
How does subscription splitting work?
Splitting a subscription on NeverSub takes one room. The host creates it for something they already pay for, people join through an invite link or a community they have verified, each member pays the host directly, and the host confirms. Confirmed members can see the login. Then it repeats every month.
NeverSub keeps the record of who is in the room and who has paid. It never holds the money: every payment goes straight from a member to the host, using whatever the two of them already use.
What goes into a room?
A room describes one subscription you already pay for: what it is, how many seats it has, what a seat includes and any house rules. NeverSub works out a fair share for each seat from the price.
The host fills in the plan, the price and the number of seats. “What’s included” is required, so members know exactly what a seat gets them before they take it. House rules are optional — a line about profiles or devices is enough.
The share is worked out for you and split fairly, so nobody has to do the arithmetic or round in their own favour. The room shows how many seats are taken and how many are still open.
How do people join?
People join through an invite link or code the host sends, or by taking an open seat listed in a verified college or company community.
An invite link is the quickest way in for family, flatmates and friends. The host shares it through any messaging app, and whoever opens it signs in with their phone number and takes a seat.
Communities are for people you have not met yet but share a college or workplace with. Members verify an email address on the community’s domain, and hosts can list a room’s open seats there. Each domain has one community, and the first person to verify creates it.
How does a member pay?
A member pays the host directly, with whatever they already use, then taps “I’ve paid” in the room. They can add a payment reference so the host can match it.
NeverSub is not in the middle of the payment. There is no checkout, no card form and no balance to top up. The room shows the member what they owe and how the host likes to be paid.
Tapping “I’ve paid” tells the host to look for the payment. Until the host confirms, the seat shows as waiting and the login stays locked.
What happens when the host confirms?
The host checks the payment arrived and confirms it. The member’s seat becomes active and the login unlocks for them.
Login details are encrypted and shown only to members the host has confirmed. If the plan works by invitation instead, the host can invite the member’s email to the plan.
If a payment never arrived, the host does not confirm it. The seat stays waiting, and the host can remind the member or remove them.
What happens every month?
Each room runs on a monthly cycle. Every month the host sees at a glance who has paid, and members see when their next share is due.
When a share is due, the host can send a reminder through any messaging app straight from the room. NeverSub does not send automatic reminders on the host’s behalf.
Members can leave a room, hosts can remove a member, and a host can end the room when the plan stops. Ended rooms stay in the app, so the record of who paid is still there.
