How do you share an Apple Music family plan?

The Apple Music family plan covers up to six people through Apple’s Family Sharing: the organiser and up to five others. Each person uses their own Apple Account, so libraries, playlists and recommendations stay separate.

Family Sharing is meant for a family, and plan rules differ by country. Check Apple’s current terms where you live before you invite anyone.

NeverSub is not affiliated with or endorsed by Apple Music. Apple Music is a trademark of its owner.

Who can join an Apple Music family plan?

Up to five people the organiser adds to Family Sharing. Each needs their own Apple Account and can be in one family at a time.

Only share a plan whose terms cover the people you add. Apple describes Family Sharing as being for family members, and with purchase sharing on, the organiser pays for what others buy with the shared payment method.

Turn purchase sharing off if you only want to share the music plan. That keeps each member paying for their own apps and films.

How do members join?

The organiser invites each person’s Apple Account to Family Sharing. Nobody shares a password.

On NeverSub, once the host confirms a member’s payment, the room shows the email to invite. Write how it works in “What’s included”, for example “your own account in my Family Sharing”, so people know before they take a seat.

How do you split the cost of Apple Music family?

Divide the plan price by the people on it, the organiser included. NeverSub works out whole shares that add up to the price.

The share is on the room before anyone joins, and NeverSub adds no fee on top. Members pay the organiser directly, with UPI or whatever they already use, and tap “I’ve paid”. The organiser confirms, and the seat is active for the month.

NeverSub never holds money. It keeps the record of who has paid and lets the host send a reminder in one tap.

What happens when someone leaves?

The organiser removes them from Family Sharing and they keep their own Apple Account. Catalogue music they saved stops playing until they subscribe themselves.

On NeverSub they leave the room or the host removes them. The seat opens again, and the room keeps the record of who paid for which month.
