How do you split a productivity or cloud storage plan?

Office suites, cloud storage, password managers, note apps and AI assistants increasingly come with family or team tiers. Paid for alone, they are some of the most expensive plans people have.

They are also the most personal. Documents, photos and passwords should never be visible to the people you split with, so these plans are shared by giving each member their own account on the plan, never by handing out one login.

Can you share a plan without sharing files?

Yes. Family and team tiers give each member their own account, storage and settings under one bill. The host invites each member to the plan.

On NeverSub, once the host confirms a member’s payment, the room shows the email the host should invite. The member signs in to the plan with their own account.

Avoid sharing one login on these plans. A shared login means shared files, shared passwords and shared history.

Who should you share a work plan with?

Family for home plans, and colleagues or classmates for team plans, as long as the plan’s terms cover the people you add.

On NeverSub, colleagues and classmates can verify their work or college email to join their company’s or college’s community. A host can list a room’s open seats there, visible only to verified members.

Check whether a team plan expects every seat to belong to the same organisation. Only share a plan whose terms cover the people you add.

How is the share worked out?

The host sets the plan price and the number of seats, and NeverSub splits the price fairly across them, the host included.

Yearly plans are often cheaper than monthly ones, but rooms on NeverSub run monthly. Agree the monthly share up front, and say in house rules what happens if someone leaves mid-year.

There is no NeverSub fee, so the share is the whole cost.

How do members pay?

Straight to the host, with whatever they already use. They tap “I’ve paid”, and the host confirms before inviting them.

NeverSub never holds money. The room keeps the record of who paid and when, and the host can send a reminder through any messaging app when a share is due.

What happens to my data when I leave?

That depends on the plan, not on NeverSub. Before leaving, move your files to an account you keep.

When someone leaves the room, the host removes their account from the plan. Make sure they have time to take their files with them first.
